B1986 - Fantastic Rare Antique Art Nouveau Plaster Bust With Glass Eyes, LA ROSE par Gory
This is a fantastic large and rare antique Art Nouveau plaster bust dating about 1900. She is entitled 'LA ROSE' and is exquisitely pretty.
She has a pure, innocent face with gorgeous brown eyes and it is these eyes that give the bust it's rarity, for they are made of glass.
They are made in amazing detail and are of the highest quality. The whites are porcelain in colour. The irises are a deep velvety shade of brown and are incredibly life like. They are perfectly set to give Rose her gentle expression.
Rose's hair is thick and lustrous and is held at one side with the flower of her name. Her lips are pink and well defined.
The bust is in atmospheric dark shades. The paint has patinated to perfection over the years which adds to it's charm and beauty. It is a substantial piece and weighs over 5 kg.
To the front of the base of the bust is a brass plaque with her title 'LA ROSE par Gory' and to the side is the signature 'A Gory'.
She measures :- H 46 cm (18.1 inches) x W 40 cm (15.75 inches) x D 15 cm (5.9 inches).
This is a gorgeous bust to add an authentic antique finishing touch and another divine brocante find from La Belle Étoffe!
