This is a spectacular large vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging dating around the mid 1900's. It has an idyllic verdure scene and is after an 18th Century Aubusson tapestry. It would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch and would look superb in a country house home.

The scene is a beautiful rural wooded vista with a château in the background. The trees are magnificent, the vegetation lush and plentiful. A river wends it's way through this glorious scene and two ducks form the central focal point. The colours are restful shades of teal, green and brown.

A sewn border with a beautiful floral design completes this wondrous scene.

The tapestry is of excellent quality and is in good vintage condition. It is finely woven in cotton and is thick and plumptious - it weighs over 5 kg. It is lined and has fixtures on the back for hanging purposes. 

The tapestry measures :- 198 cm (6 ft 6 inches) wide x 156 cm (5 ft 1.5 inches ) high.

A fantastic large tapestry wall hanging to add an authentic château chic statement to a room. It is from a carefully selected collection of antique French textiles and decorative pieces at 'La Belle Étoffe'.
