B2081 - Spectacular HUGE Vintage French Verdure Woven Tapestry Wall Hanging, 3.44 M Wide

This is a spectacular huge vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging dating from the early to mid 1900's. It's sheer size sets it apart from other tapestries. It has a bucolic rural scene and is after an 18th Century 'Verdure' Aubusson tapestry. It would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch and would look superb in a country house home.

The scene is a beautiful rural vista with a river running through centre. In the background is a village on a hill. Two magnificent trees dominate the foreground beneath which is more fabulous vegetation.

Around this splendour is a sewn border with a floral design.

The colours are striking shades of ochres, greens and teals.

The tapestry is woven in cotton. It is lined and has metal rings sewn to the back for hanging purposes.

It is in good vintage condition. There is a little darkening of the border at the top  (please see photos) and some marks on the lining but nothing to detract from the splendour of this amazing tapestry.

It measures :- 344 cm (11 ft 3.4 inches) wide x 235 cm (7 ft 8.5 inches) high.
