B2087 - Sublime Antique French Fine Muslin, Cornely Lace Curtain / Drape Circa 1900This is a sublime antique French Cornely lace curtain dating about 1900. The textile is a very fine cotton muslin in a lovely subtle cream. It has an all over flower and tendril design worked in fine chain stitch. The sides of the curtain are formed by the selvedge of the muslin. There is an integral plain hem to the bottom. The top is slightly gathered onto a tape. We have left the curtain as we found it. It is in good antique condition but considering the delicacy of the textile and it's age, there are some minor characteristics. There are some areas where the chain stitch has gone, there is a small horizontal pull and there is a mark in the bottom right hand corner 27 cm ( 10.6 inches) up from the bottom and 17 cm (6.6 inches) in from the side (please see photos). These characteristics are minor and do not draw the eye. The curtain measures :- 216 cm (7 ft 1 inch) long x 78 cm (2 ft 6.7 inches) wide at the bottom and 73 cm (2 ft 4.7 inches) wide at the top. A divine delicate French Cornely lace curtain to add an authentic château chic finishing touch and another gorgeous antique French textile find from La Belle Étoffe. Please note that the clips & tie back we have used to display the curtain are not included. Please hover cursor over picture for magnified detail and click on picture for enlarged photo.
