This is a superb vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging dating around the mid 1900's. It has a rural hunting scene and is after an 18th Century Aubusson tapestry. It would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch and would look superb in a country house home.

The scene is set in a fabulous wood with stunning trees and a river.  A magnificent stag has been surrounded by hunting dogs in the water. They are accompanied by mounted huntsmen. All around is lush vegetation and fabulous trees. There is a château in the background.

A border frames this stunning scene.

The colours are atmospheric ochres, browns and teals with touches of red in the costumes.

The tapestry is woven in cotton and is in good vintage condition.

It is lined and hase a tape with metal rings sewn to the back for hanging purposes.

It measures :- 150 cm (4 ft 11 inches) wide x 104 cm (3 ft 4.9 inches) high.
