B2149 - Exquisite Pair Antique French Empire Style Silk Brocade Chateau Curtains, Drapes

This is an exquisite pair of long antique French curtains dating from the early 1900's. They would certainly add an authentic château chic finishing touch to a salon or boudoir.

The textile is a gorgeous superb quality fine silk brocade in Empire style antique cream and pink stripes. Within the stripes are charming motifs including urns, bows and scrolls. See the oval medallions with the tiny romantic scenes - just delightful!

At the top of each curtain are 5 pinch pleats. There is a curtain tape on the reverse. The curtains are lined with a fine cream cotton.

The curtains are trimmed to the leading edges and bottoms with a lovely silk fringed passementerie.

The curtains are in very good antique condition. I can see no flaws to point out other than some frothing and pulls to the passementerie.

We have left the curtains as we found them, they have not been dry cleaned but in our opinion they are ready to hang.

Each curtain measures :- 252 cm (8 ft 3.2 inches) long x 125 cm (4 ft 1.2 inches) wide at the bottom and 72 cm (2 ft 4.3 inches) wide at the top. The sizes include the passementerie.
