B394 - SOLD

This is a superb pair of decorative 19th Century antique French shutter hold backs with the figure of a rather elegant mademoiselle.

They would have originally been built into the exterior wall next to the window and would have been used to hold the shutters back after they had been opened.

The mademoiselle lifts up and flips forwards to allow the shutter to be positioned and then she flips back and clicks down to hold it.

The mademoiselle is beautifully attired in a hat set at a jaunty angle and her gown is scooped at the neck.

The cast iron has taken on lovely antique patination but it would polish if required.

These fabulous shutter hold backs are fully functional and can be used inside or out.

They are also very decorative. They sit nicely on their base and would be a stunning  addition to any château chic display.

Dimensions (mademoiselle upright) :- H 7 cm (2.75 inches) x W 2 cm (0.75 inches) x L 16 cm (6.25 inches).

Another superb antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!
