This is an exquisite little antique French planter / jardinière dating from the 1800's.

It is of a size perfect to take a couple of cyclamen and would sit beautifully on a window ledge or shelf.

It is made from zinc and is a weighty little piece. The silver gilding on the zinc has  mellowed over the years to a lovely pearlescent hue which contrasts fabulously with the darker metal beneath.

The jardinière is highly decorative and cast in wonderful detail. It sits on lion's feet and has beautiful swirling leaf garland handles. The sides have a central bow and ribbon tail crest and there are beautiful flower garlands and acanthus leaf scrolls. Even the underside of the jardinière is decorated.

The jardinière is in good condition and would add a gorgeous château chic finishing touch.

It measures :- H 11 cm (4.25 inches) x W 26.5 cm (10.5 inches) x D 11 cm (4.25 inches).
