B437 - SOLD

This is a divine antique French mirrored tray dating from the late 1800's, early 1900's. It would originally have sat on a dressing table in a château chic boudoir and held perfume bottles.

It would now also look superb as a centre piece on a table or as a stand for a vase of flowers or for displaying jewellery.

It is a very decorative piece and sits on 4 gorgeous acanthus leaf scroll feet. The handles are beautifully decorated with ribbon bows and flower garlands. To each of the sides is a crossed lute and horn with a bow crest and swag and flower detail.

It is a substantial piece. The mirror is supported with a wood plinth. The mirror is in good condition with no chips and just a few minor scratches from years of use.

The metal of the surround would have originally been silvered. This has now mellowed to a lovely subtle hue resembling pewter.

The tray measures 43 cm (17 inches) wide x 22.5 cm (9 inches) deep x 5.5 cm (2.25 inches) high (at the handles).

This is a sublime antique French mirrored stand to add a touch of faded grandeur to a château chic interior and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!

It can be seen in our shop in Frome, Somerset.
