This is a superb antique French door knocker dating from about 1900.

It is in the shape of a lady's hand and is beautifully detailed.

It is made from cast iron and has it's original cream paint. It is a substantial, good quality piece of considerable weight.

The hand has a ring on the middle finger and there is a frilled cuff and bow at the wrist. The fingers clasp a ball which forms the actual knocker.

The back bracket from which the hand is hinged is also substantial and decorative. It has a threaded hole to take an M8 bolt for fixing to the door.

The knocker is in excellent condition with only the merest mellowing to the paint.

It measures 14 cm (5.5 inches) high x 6.5 cm (2.5 inches) wide x 6.5 cm (2.5 inches) deep.

This gorgeous knocker would certainly add a château chic finishing touch to a front door.
