B489 - SOLD

This is a very pretty antique French religious diorama dating from the mid 1900's. It would have been bought as a souvenir from a religious pilgrimage. It is very decorative and would make a lovely addition to any vintage French display.

The image on the back of the diorama is of  Saint Thérèsa portrayed in lovely soft tinted sepia colours. She holds a crucifix and a bouquet of roses in gorgeous vintage shades.

All of this is covered with domed glass and held in an oval metal frame. There is a loop at the top of the frame for hanging on a hook or threading through with ribbon. It is all in good condition with a few dust specks on the underside of the glass which does not detract.

The diorama measures 19 cm (7.5 inches) high (not including hook)  x 14.5 cm (5.75 inches) wide.

A pretty and interesting piece for any vintage French display and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!

Please note that these dioramas are very difficult to photograph and the light from our chandeliers is reflected in the domed glass.
