This sublime antique French ormolu mount would originally have come from a mirror, bed or armoire and dates from about 1880.

It is in the form of an exquisite flower garland swag held at either end by a ribbon with billowing tails.

The flowers are many and varied and are all cast in wonderful detail. The mount is of excellent quality and has good weight.

The gilding on the ormolu has mellowed over the years to a lovely antique gold hue.

This gorgeous decorative mount would look stunning over a doorway or as a centre piece on a curtain pelmet. Fixed above a bed it could form part of a ciel de lit from which to drape curtains.

It has 9 holes for fixing and it measures 39.5 cm (15.5 inches) wide x 17 cm (6.75 inches) high.
