This is an absolutely charming small bust of Our Lady Of Lourdes dating from about 1920.  It would have been bought as a souvenir from a religious pilgrimage to Lourdes. It is very decorative and would make a lovely addition to any vintage French display.

Our Lady is very serene and beautiful. She is painted in lovely colour and detail. Her eyes have a wistful expression and she has lovely rosebud lips. The fabric of her attire drapes beautifully around her face.

She sits on a green plinth and her gown is in shades of ochre. The colours are very typical of the era and are very atmospheric.

The plinth has the words ND de LOURDES on the front and the makers name on the back.

The bust is in good condition with just a little distressing as one would expect.

It measures :- H 12 cm (4.75 inches) x W 10.5 cm (4.25 inches) x D 6 cm (2.3 inches).

A charming and interesting piece for any vintage French display and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!
