B515 - SOLDThis is a fantastic set of 6 antique French ormolu curtain tie / hold backs dating from about 1880. What a rare occurance to find 6 matching! They would be ideal to add a château chic finishing touch to a triple aspect room. They have a decorative back plate and the fascia of the hook has a beautiful basket of roses design. They are of good quality with excellent detail and definition to the casting of the metal. The gilding is lustrous with a gorgeous buttery hue. There are areas of patination and verdigris which adds character to these fabulous old curtain hold backs. They have a strap on the reverse of the back plate and can be fixed by hanging them on a hook.Each tie back measures :- H 16 cm (6.25 inches) x W 5 cm (2 inches) x D 12.5 cm (5 inches).
