This is a sublime antique French miniature armoire dating around 1880. It is a very decorative piece and would also be very useful as a small cupboard, perhaps in a bathroom.

It is painted a gorgeous shade of ochre and over this is hand painted a plethora of trailing leaves and flowers in heavenly sepia colours.

The top of the armoire is adorned with a decorative pediment and two finials. There is a single mirrored door beneath which is a drawer with two handles.

The door opens to reveal a simple wooden interior with a single shelf.

The door and drawer open smoothly and the armoire is sturdy.

The armoire has timeworn to perfection over the years. The paint has distressed in places and the handles to the door and drawer have taken some knocks. The mirror has some foxing and the card backing has curled back a little but this all just adds to the character of this beautiful & rare piece.

It measures :- 42.5 cm (16.75 inches) high x 23 cm (9 inches) wide x 11 cm (4.25 inches) deep.

A gorgeous little armoire to add a touch of faded grandeur and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe.
