This is a divine antique French silk lampshade dating from the early 1900's.

It is a faded and frilled confection and would add an authentic shabby chic finishing touch to a vintage French interior.

The lampshade is made in a gorgeous pink silk taffeta now faded to a sublime dusky pink hue. Glimpses of the original colour can be seen amongst the pleats.

At the top of the shade is a ruched band. From this the silk is pleated and falls away to join another plumptiously frilled ruched band at the bottom.

Inside the shade is lined with a fine silk now also darkened with the passage of time. Here there is a wire fitting which will fit a standard size modern lamp.

Although deliciously faded all the textile on the shade is in good condition with no tears or wear.

The shade measures :-

25.5 cm (10 inches) high

47 cm (18.5 inches) across the bottom at the widest frill.

18 cm (7 inches) across the top.
