B538 - SOLD

This is an adorable antique French crucifix with a winged cherubic angel. It is made from celluloid and dates from about 1880.

It would probably have been given as a gift to a newborn baby and would have been placed in the crib or bassinet to protect it.

The angel has beautiful curly hair. His wings are full and feathery and frame his exquisite face.

At the top of the crucifix is a ring for hanging. It could be threaded with ribbon and hung on a wall as part of a vintage display.

The crucifix is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.

It measures:-  20 cm (7.75 inches) high including the ring x 8.5 cm (3.3 inches) wide x 3.5 cm (1.5 inches) deep.
