This is a sweet little antique French planter / jardinière dating from the 1800's.

It is of a size perfect to take a couple of cyclamen and would sit beautifully on a window ledge or shelf.

It is made from spelter and is a weighty little piece. The silver gilding on the spelter has  mellowed over the years to a lovely pearlescent hue which contrasts fabulously with the darker metal beneath.

The jardinière is highly decorative and cast in wonderful detail. It sits on scrolled feet and has beautiful leaf garland handles. The sides have a central crest below which is a shield shape surrounded by flower and leaf garlands.

Inside is a lift out zinc tray with two little handles.

The jardinière is in good condition and would add a gorgeous finishing touch to a château chic interior.

It measures :- H 12.5 cm (5 inches) x W 29 cm (11.5 inches) x D 13.5 cm (5.5 inches).
