This is an exquisite antique French tapestry château curtain pelmet dating from the 1800's. It came with a pair of curtains, listed in our other items.

Like the curtains the pelmet is made from a heavy wool, silk and linen weave with a greater emphasis on the silk.

It has a gorgeous swagged flower garland design interspersed with bows and trailing ribbon tails .

The colours are subtle antique shades. The background is a gorgeous champagne colour and the flowers are in soft pinks and greens with a touch of pale blue.

The top edge of the pelmet is shaped and the bottom of it is scalloped and trimmed with passementerie.

The textile of the pelmet is in excellent condition with no holes or obvious marks.

The reverse of the pelmet is lined and has some small holes where it was once nailed to a batten.

The pelmet measures :- 176 cm (5 feet 9 inches) wide x 44 cm (17.25 inches) high.

A fabulous antique French curtain pelmet to compliment the curtains we have on offer or perhaps to be used with others.
