This is a gorgeous pair of antique French lace château curtains dating from the 1800's.
They are fabulously worked in drawn threadwork and would add a château chic finishing touch to a room.
They are a newly laundered snowy white and are in good condition.
Each curtain has a border and a central panel of swirling acanthus leaves and flowers. The edges and bottom are scalloped and bound with a fine tape.
At the reverse of the top of each curtain is sewn a tape through which a cane or wire can be threaded for hanging. The tape shows rust marks from a previous wire but this does not show through to the front of the curtains.
The curtains are in excellent condition with just one tiny snag at the bottom of the right hand curtain.
Each curtain measures :- 234 cm (7ft 8 inches) long x 53 cm (1ft 9 inches) wide.
A divine pair of antique French lace curtains to add a très jolie touch to a window and another fabulous antique French textile find from La Belle Étoffe.
