This is a beautiful antique French hand crocheted bed throw dating from about 1900. It is made in cotton in a lovely shade of antique white.

It is beautifully worked  in amazing detail. It is sumptuous and heavy and drapes perfectly.

It is made of a matrix of  raised flowers. Each flower has 8 petals densely worked in tiny stitches which gives the flowers a 3 dimensional quality.

Around each flower is a more loosely worked sun burst circle and it is these that join the flowers together.

From each of the outside flower circles hangs a tassel.

The throw is clean and fresh and is in excellent condition with no damage and just one tassel missing.

It measures :- 187 cm (6ft 1.5 inches) long x 168 cm (5ft 6 inches) wide not including the tassels
