B587 - SOLD This is a superb set of antique French kitchen scales dating from the early 1900's.   They are fully functional and would make a stunning addition to either a vintage or ultra modern cuisine.   The 2 aluminium weighing plates are held on a very attractive enamelled base with a mottled grey finish. There is a metal badge with the words 'Balance De Menage' - Household Scales.   At the front of the base is a little knob which when pulled opens a flap which displays a complete set of brass weights. The weights are held in slots in a wooden base. There are 12 weights graduating from 1 gram to 500 grams and together they weigh 1 kilogram.   The scales are in excellent condition and measure :- 42 cm ( 16.5 inches) across the top of the weighing plates x 17 cm (6.75 inches) deep x 18 cm (7 inches) high   A superb set of scales and another fabulous antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!
