B600 - SOLD

This is a superb antique French carved cherub's face dating from the 1800's. It would probably have come from a church and would now make a very decorative architectural display piece.

The cherub is carved from cherry wood and the original varnish gives him a gorgeous golden glow.

The carving has been expertly executed to give the cherub his adorable features. His hair fall softly on his head and his cheeks are full and rounded.

The back of the wood plaque from which the cherub has been carved is smooth, and when hung from the loop at the top sits against the wall perfectly.

The cherub and his plaque measure :- 26 cm (10.25 inches) high x 21 cm (8.25 inches) wide x 10 cm (4 inches) deep.

A gorgeous church cherub for an architectural display piece or to add to a collection and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe.
