This is a divine antique French 5 arm brass church candelabra dating from the Napoleon III era C 1860.

It is absolutely beautiful and oozes château grandeur and opulence. It is very architectural and would look exquisite on an enfilade in front of a mirror to reflect it's flickering splendour.

The candelabra has 5 arms each made of a branch of burgeoning flowers, leaves and buds. The flowers are trumpet shaped and are very three dimensional.

The candelabra stands on a decorative triangular base with scrolled feet and corners. Each of the three sides is adorned with further scroll work and two facing lion's heads. Above the triangular base is a rope twist column on which sits a node with three griffins. Above this is the collar from which the arms emerge.

The brass has mellowed over the years to a soft old gold hue. It would polish further if required but looks superb as it is.

The candelabra is in good condition and is sturdy. If you look very carefully you will see that three of the candle sockets have a small collar missing but this is barely noticeable and does not affect the security of the candle.

The candelabra measures :- H 52 cm (20.5 inches) to the top of the tallest arm x 42 cm (16.5 inches) across the arms.

Whether placed on a simple country buffet or a grand enfilade this gorgeous candelabra will look stunning.
