This is a stunning pair of antique French cast iron candle sconces. They are very decorative and would add flickering candlelit charm to any room or patio.

At the centre of each of the back plates is a fabulous mythical god like head adorned with a laurel  leaf wreath and with draped swags to the neck. Around the head are scrolls and curls and acanthus leaf detail.

The candle is held on a curved arm with a drip plate to catch the wax.

The sconces have good weight and detail to the casting. The black paint has mellowed over the years to a lovely antique patina.

The sconces each have a loop for hanging on a wall.

Each sconce measures:- 28 cm (11 inches) high x 10.5 cm (4.25 inches) wide x 11 cm (4.3 inches) deep.

A gorgeous pair of candle sconces to add a château chic finishing touch and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe.
