This is a fabulous set of  4 antique French ormolu curtain tie / hold backs in the Empire style and dating from about 1880.

They are of good quality and weight with excellent detail and definition to the casting of the metal.

The back plate has a quivver of arrows design and the ornate fascia of the hook is crowned with a finial.

The gilding on the ormolu has mellowed to a lovely old gold with hints of  Fontenay.

The tie backs have a strap on the reverse of the back plate and can be fixed by hanging them on a hook.

They measure :- H 14.5 cm (5.75 inches) x W 5 cm (2 inches) x D 13 cm (5 inches).

A superb set of tie backs to add a château chic statement and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe.
