This is a sublime vintage French ciel de lit / bed couronne or bed canopy.

It is to hang above a bed to create a decorative centre piece from which to hang drapes.

It has an outer metal frame to which is attached a divine toleware rose and leaf garland. At the centre of the garland is a gorgeous urn filled with the roses and tiny leaves.  The roses are made in fantastic detail with many whorls of petals.

There is an inner metal frame and it is to this that the drapes can be attached.

The white paint has patinated over the years to add character to this lovely couronne.

On the back bracket of the couronne are two holes for attaching it to a wall.

It measures :- W 74 cm (29 inches) x D48 cm (19 inches) x H 15.5 cm (6.1 inches).

This is a divine bed canopy to add an authentic shabby chic finishing touch to a boudoir and another fabulous antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!
