This is a divine antique French religious plaster statue of Mary with the infant Jesus dating from about 1900.  She is very decorative and would make a stunning addition to any vintage display.

Our Lady is very serene and beautiful. She, and her infant are painted in sublime colour and detail.

Mary has long flowing wavy hair which falls about her shoulders and down her back. Her attire is beautifully draped and she wears a cloak in the most stunning shade of blue. Jesus wears a matching cloak in a lovely shade of shell pink beneath which his perfect little toes peep

Mary wears a splendid gilded crown and carries a gilded sceptre and Jesus carries the orb.

The statue has a lovely smooth finish and is very tactile. It has survived the years is in good condition with just a little distressing as one would expect.

It measures :- H 42 cm (16.5 inches) x W 13 cm (5 inches) x D 9 cm (3.5 inches).

A stunning and interesting piece to add an architectural feature to a display and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!
