This is a superb antique French textile covered boudoir /  sewing box dating from the 1920's.

It is covered in a stunning black and white Toile De Jouy cotton fabric with charming country scenes.

The box has a central handle and to either side a lid lifts up to reveal a an interior lined with red paper which contrasts beautifully with the black and white Toile.
One of the sides is compartmentalised to take cotton reels or smaller trinkets.

The handle is beautifully trimmed with a passementerie with pale pink and burgundy highlights.

The box is sturdy and in good vintage condition. The paper is lovely and clean with no obvious marks.

It measures :- Width 33.5 cm (12 inches) x Height to top of handle 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) x D 22 cm (8.75 inches).

This is a stunning antique textile boudoir box with the added advantage of a handle and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!
