B755 - Divine Antique French Ormolu Easel Picture Frame, Acanthus Leaf Crest, C1880

This is a divine antique French easel picture frame dating from the late 1800's.

It would be perfect for a château chic boudoir, perhaps placed on a bedside table.

The frame has a gorgeous ormolu acanthus leaf crest on which the gilding has mellowed to a lovely buttery hue.

The frame stands on two ball feet. On the back is the easel spring mechanism which works smoothly. The back stand is good and strong.

The glass display panel is particularly thick and heavy with a bevelled edge. It is original to the frame and is in excellent condition

The frame measures 18 cm (7 inches) high x 10 cm (4 inches) wide.

While standing it measures 7.5 cm (3 inches) deep.
