B757 - Sublime Antique French Ormolu Easel Picture Frame, Ribbon Bow Crest, C1880

This is a sublime antique French easel picture frame dating from the late 1800's.

It would be perfect for a château chic boudoir or salon. It would look lovely on a table grouped with others.

The frame has a gorgeous ormolu bow and ribbon tail crest.

It stands on two ball feet. On the back is the easel spring mechanism which works smoothly. The back stand is good and strong and there is a loop for hanging it on a wall.

The gilding on the ormolu has mellowed over the years to timeworn perfection.

The glass display panel has a bevelled edge. It is original to the frame and is in good condition with just one minor nibble.

The frame measures 17.5 cm (7 inches) high x 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide.

While standing it measures 9 cm (3.5 inches) deep.
