This beautiful antique French ormolu mount would originally have come from a mirror, bed or armoire and dates from about 1880.

It is a fabulous crescent shaped spray of exquisite roses and leaves.

The mount is of excellent quality with good weight. The fabulous detail to the casting gives the roses and leaves their wonderful three dimensional quality.

The gilding on the ormolu has mellowed over the years to a fabulous old gold hue.

This gorgeous decorative mount would look stunning over a doorway or as a centre piece on a curtain pelmet. Fixed above a bed it could form part of a ciel de lit from which to drape curtains.

It has 2 brackets on the back for fixing and it measures 43 cm (17 inches) wide x 8 cm (3.1 inches) high.
