B810 - Delightful Antique French Brass Photo / Picture Frame, Cherub's Face, 19th C

This is a delightful antique French brass picture frame dating from the 1800's. It is very decorative and would be perfect for a cherished photo.

It has the most charming cherub's face crest. The cherub is adorable and has lovely curly hair and chubby cheeks. The rest of the frame is intricately cast with swirls and curls.

The frame sits on two sturdy decorative feet and there is a substantial back rest with a fleur de lys design.

The frame is of excellent quality with wonderful detail and definition to the casting of the brass. The brass has mellowed to a lovely old gold hue.

The glass appears to be original to the frame and is in good order.

On the back of the frame are 4 little hinged fixtures for holding the photo in place. At some stage during it's life someone has placed a piece of leather underneath them and we have left it as we found it.

The frame measures 18.5 cm (7.25 inches) high x 11 cm (4.3 inches) wide.

While standing it is 11.5 cm (4.5 inches) deep.
