B843 - SOLDThis is an absolulely delightful antique French doll's bathroom. It dates from about 1920 and is full of timeworn charm.
It is made of tin and is in a lovely shade of light jade green. The floor of the bathroom has a forest green 'tiled' border and the walls have a charming frieze with ducks and lilies in the same forest green highlighted with red.
The lift out bath stands in the middle of the bathroom and behind it is little tap with a red faucet. This tap actually works! There is a small tank behind the back wall of the bathroom which can be filled with water and when the tap is turned on the bath will fill.
On the left hand wall of the bathroom is a little basin with a tap that turns and on the other wall is a shelf. Above both of these is a tin mirror.
The bathroom has patinated over the years and now makes an atmospheric display piece. It is intact with just one chip to the paint on one of the feet of the bath.
It measures :- 27 cm (10.5 inches) wide x 16 cm (6.3 inches) deep x 15 cm (6 inches) high.
The bath is 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) long x 8 cm (3.25 inches) deep x 6 cm (2.3 inches) high.
