This is a divine antique French wood picture frame dating from the 19th Century. It frames a delightful morceau of cretonne fabric dating from the same period.

The frame is oval in shape and has a beautiful bow and rose garland plaster crest. The morceau of fabric depicts a charming vignette of a 19th C little girl and boy fishing on a lily pond. The scene is idyllic. The children are beautifully attired and they are being greeted by a gorgeous swan. A beautiful rambling rose with a full blown flower and buds completes the scene. The colours are gorgeous with shades of pink and neutrals dominating the palette.

The frame and fabric compliment each other perfectly. The framing has been done very well. The glass is in perfect order and at some stage during it's life the frame has been re-gilded.

The frame has a wooden back and there is a hook for hanging it on a wall.

It measures :- 35 cm (13.75 inches) high x 26 cm (10.25 inches) wide.
