This is an exquisitely pretty antique French hand worked needlepoint tapestry border / pelmet. It is large enough to incorporate into a number of interior projects. It would make a lovely pelmet above a window or it could hang vertically as a wall hanging and would make a divine bed head.

The background colour is a lovely warm cream. It is beautifully worked along it's entire length with a gorgeous roses design in soft pastels and neutrals. Some of the roses hang in little garlands from be-ribboned hangers while others are part of a continuous flower and leaf tendril which weaves it's way along the length of the panel. The flowers and roses are in beautiful shades of pink, peach blue and yellow.

The panel is in excellent antique condition. It is clean with no marks. I have searched and found that at one end our ardent stitcher has missed just 3 stitches and at the the other end there are 3 stitches, and 7 stitches that appear to be wear (see pics).

The panel measures :- 196 cm (6 ft 5 inches) long x 28.5 cm (11.25 inches) wide.

A fantastic antique needlepoint tapestry to add an authentic château chic statement to a room and another divine antique French textile find from La Belle Étoffe.
