B877 - SOLD

This is an amazing antique French mirror dating from the 1800's. It is breathtakingly beautiful and very decorative.

It is made of spelter and is in the shape of a harp. The harp stands on a decorative base with acanthus leaf scrolled feet. At the top of the harp is a stunning scrolled acanthus leaf flourish and on the shoulder of the harp is the most gorgeous little bird with it's wings outstretched.

As if this all this was not enough, over the years the mirror has achieved the most fantastic timeworn finish. The gilding on the harp has mellowed and patinated to perfection. The mirror plate is bevelled and has foxed in the most spectacular manner.

Despite it's timeworn appearance the mirror is sturdy and is a substantial piece. It weighs over 4 kg.

It measures :- 61 cm (24 inches) high x 30 cm (12 inches) wide x 15 cm (6 inches) deep.

An amazing mirror to add an atmospheric touch to a special niche and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe.
