This is an exquisite antique French desk tidy / trinket dish in the Art Nouveau style and dating from around 1900.

Four glass dishes graduating in size are held in a fabulous gilded metal frame. The frame has the most divine Art Nouveau design with beautiful anemones and leaves.

The glass of the dishes is very thick. The dishes fit in the frame perfectly. They would be ideal for holding a few stationary items, such as calling cards, on a desk. Or they could hold jewellery and trinkets on a dressing table.

The frame and it's glass are in excellent antique condition.The gilding on the metal has mellowed a little over the years and there is one minute chip on one of the corners of the smallest dish, see pics.

The desk tidy measures 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) deep x 7.75 cm (3 inches) wide x 7.75 cm (3 inches) high.
