This is a truly beautiful antique French framed religious print dating from the 19th Century. It depicts 'The Holy Sacrement Of The Altar'.

Two gorgeous angels with flowing gowns and plumed wings kneel in prayer at the altar. Above them six little winged cherubs with sublime faces hover in the clouds.

A beautiful lamb lies on a cross on the altar which has a green tasselled cloth. The gilded altar cross with the letters 'JHS' stands on a plinth behind and is further highlighted with a gilded background.

The colours are atmospheric greens, pinks, turquoise & golds which look rich and stunning against the gilding.

The frame of the print is wood with a black lacquer and gilded finish. Both the frame and the glass are in good condition.

There is a metal loop on the back of the frame for hanging it on a wall.

It measures :- 44 cm (17.25 inches) high x 36 cm (14 inches) wide.

A gorgeous framed religious print to add a divine atmospheric touch to a wall and another superb antique French find from La Belle Étoffe.
