This is a divine antique French religious wax bust of  Mary, the Madonna dating from the late 1800's, early 1900's.  It is a very decorative piece and would make a stunning addition to any vintage display.

Mary is very serene. Her head is bowed and her eyes are closed. Her gown is classically medieval and her mantle drapes beautifully around her head. The sepia coloured wax adds to the simplicity of the piece.

The bust stands on an oval wooden plinth. There is a spike to hold it in place.

The bust and the plinth are in excellent antique condition. The bust is signed on the back.

She measures :- H 15 cm (6 inches) x W 14 cm (5.5 inches) x D 8 cm (3 inches) including the base.
