This is a superb vintage French wall hanging. It has a medieval heraldic tapestry design and is printed on linen. It would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch and would look superb in a country house home.

The design is dominated by 3 magnificent steeds and their riders. The horse in the front is mounted by a gentleman in full heraldic dress. He is releasing a pigeon from his hand, possibly for the falcon held by one of his companions. The horses and their riders are fabulously attired and present a wonderful spectacle.

To the left of the foreground is a stunning tree full of ripe fruit and to the right is a flower filled meadow. In the background there are no less than 5 castles.

The design is beautifully printed. The colours are a stunning combination of pinks and greens.

The wall hanging has a hessian lining, is nice and heavy and hangs perfectly. On the back are some metal fixtures for hanging purposes. It is in excellent vintage condition.

It measures :- 180 cm (5 ft 11 inches) wide x 138 cm (4 ft 6 inches ) high.
