This is a stunning vintage French wall hanging. It has a medieval tapestry design and is printed on linen. It would add a fabulous château chic finishing touch and would look superb in a country house home.

It depicts a group of 2 women and 3 men foraging in a wood. They have their animals with them. They have long tools which they could be using to dislodge the fruit from the trees (see the lady holding out her skirt) or to flush out the birds (see the hunting dog).

Despite their country tasks the characters are very well  turned out in stunning garments. Around them is a profusion of vegetation and flowers. At the top of the hanging are two heraldic shields.

The colours are fabulous. The vibrant pinks of the outfits and greens of the vegetation contrast perfectly with the dark blue background.

The wall hanging has a hessian lining, is nice and heavy and hangs perfectly. On the back are some metal fixtures for hanging purposes. It is in excellent vintage condition with a little fading of the printed colours in places, but this just adds character to this lovely piece.

It measures :- 148 cm (4 ft 10 inches) wide x 94 cm (3 ft 1 inch ) high.
