B939 - SOLD

This is a gorgeous antique French mirrored tray dating from the 1800's. It would  be superb as a stand for perfume bottles on a dressing table in a château chic boudoir, or perhaps for displaying jewellery or for a vase of flowers.

t is made of spelter and is a very decorative piece. It sits on 4 gorgeous acanthus leaf scroll feet. The handles are beautifully decorated with ribbon bows. To each of the sides is a crossed lute and horn with a bow crest and swag and flower detail.

It is a substantial piece. The mirror is supported by a wooden plinth. The mirror is in good condition with no chips.

The metal of the surround would have originally been silvered. This has now mellowed to a lovely subtle hue resembling pewter.

The tray measures 43 cm (17 inches) wide x 22.5 cm (9 inches) deep x 5.5 cm (2.25 inches) high (at the handles).

This is a sublime antique French mirrored stand to add a touch of faded grandeur to a château chic interior and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!
