This is a sublime antique French textile covered boudoir box dating from the 1800's.

It is covered in the most delightful cotton fabric with tiny pink roses and blue ribbons and bows. On the lid is a paper vignette of an affluent 18th Century family gathered around a grand paino. The vignette is in sepia shades and is very atmospheric.

Around the edge of the lid, the vignette and base of the box is a fine passementerie with glints of golden thread.

The lid of the box opens to reveal a slightly padded interior covered in the same delightful roses fabric. The underside of the box bears the 'Au Printemps' PARIS label.

The box is in wonderful antique condition. The fabric on the lid has darkened a little over the passage of time as one would expect.

The box measures :- W 19 cm (7.5 inches) x H 6.5 cm (2.5 inches) x D 16.5 cm (6.5 inches).

A heavenly box to add a touch of happiness to a boudoir and another divine antique French find from La Belle Étoffe!
