This impressive antique French ormolu mount would originally have come from a mirror, bed or armoire and dates from the 1800's. It would look stunning over a doorway or as a centre piece on a curtain pelmet. Fixed above a bed it could form part of a ciel de lit from which to drape curtains.

The design is absolutely stunning. It depicts a central flaming torch entwined with beautiful ribbons and roses which flow to either side.

The mount is of excellent quality with good weight. The ormolu has mellowed to a lovely shade of old gold.

The mount has 4 holes for fixing and it measures 38.5 cm (15.25 inches) wide x 30 cm (12 inches) high.
