This is a beautiful antique French easel picture frame dating from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. It holds a charming paper cartoon of a child and dog but this could be changed if required.

The frame would make the perfect château chic finishing touch, perhaps grouped with others on a side table.

The frame has a gorgeous ormolu bow and ribbon tail crest. It stands on two ball feet. On the back is the easel spring mechanism which works smoothly. The back stand is good and strong and there is a loop for hanging it on a wall.

The gilding on the ormolu has mellowed over the years to timeworn perfection.

The glass display panel has a bevelled edge. It is original to the frame and is in good antique condition.

The frame measures 20 cm (8 inches) high x 11 cm (4.25 inches) wide.
