This is a fabulous antique French easel picture frame dating from the late 1800's, early 1900's. It holds a charming posed photo of three children but this could be changed if required.

The frame would make the perfect château chic finishing touch, perhaps grouped with others on a side table.

The frame has a gorgeous ormolu acanthus leaf crest. The glass sits in an ormolu base with a scrolled acathus leaf design which extends down to form the feet.

On the back is the easel spring mechanism which works smoothly. The back stand is good and strong and there is a loop for hanging it on a wall.

The gilding on the ormolu has mellowed to a divine buttery hue.

The glass display panel has a bevelled edge. It is original to the frame and is in excellent condition.

The frame measures 23 cm (9 inches) high x 15 cm (6 inches) wide.
