This is a stunning antique French spelter planter / jardinière dating from the 1800's.

It would be perfect to take a couple of geraniums and would sit beautifully on a window ledge or perhaps on a hall console table.

It is very decorative and has an ecclesiastical influence to it's design. It sits on 6 columned feet and to the front and back is a central crest with pillars and arches. The handles are beautifully scrolled and decorated with acanthus leaves.

Inside, the jardinière has a lift out tray with 2 little handles. The tray has patinated over the years to a wonderful verdigris finish and is in good condition.

The jardinière too is in good condition. The silvering on the spelter has patinated over the years to create a beautiful finish that could not be replicated.

It measures :- H 12.5 cm (5 inches) x W 37 cm (14.5 inches) x D 15 cm (6 inches).
