B1994 - Fabulous Set 4 Large Antique French Curtain Pole Holders, Pineapple Crest, 19th Century

This is a fabulous set of 4 antique French gilded metal curtain pole holders in the Empire style and dating from the 1800's. They are large and sturdy and suitable for supporting substantial château curtains. .

The fascia of each holder has a stunning leaf design with a pineapple crest. 

Each holder has a cup to take the pole. There is a spike within each cup to hold the pole in place.

The back plates of the holders each have a slot and a screw hole for fixing to a wall. 

Two of the holders have a small hole on the fascia (please see photos). We only noticed this when inspecting the close up photos.

The gilding on the metal has mellowed over the years to a wonderful antique patina. 

Each pole holder measures :- H 24 cm (9.4 inches) x W 6.5 cm (2.6 inches) x D 16.5 cm (6.5 inches).  The inside diameter of the pole cup is 4 cm (1.6 inches).
