This is an exquisite vintage French woven tapestry wall hanging in the style of those decorating the palace of Versailles during the reign of Louis XIV. It would certainly add a château chic finishing touch to a room.

It is very finely woven in cotton in incredible detail.

It's design features ornate columns connected by a balustrade to the base and trellis to the top all entwined with a plethora of roses, flowers and leaves. Within this architectural structure a stunning hanging gilded jardinière brimming with flowers takes centre stage.

The surround is a lovely shade of rich red against which the subtle pinks, reds and greens of the roses look superb.

The tapestry is lined and has a sewn pocket at the top to take a rod or batten. It is in good vintage condition.

It measures :- 140 cm (4 ft 7 inches) high x 95 cm (3 ft 1.5 inches) wide.
